From a very young age, René Salazar showed an innate inclination toward art, filling any available surface with self-taught drawings that reflected his inner world. Although he initially studied Business Administration, his passion for creativity led him to pursue a degree in Fine Arts, where he discovered his fascination with illustration and hyperrealism—styles that would shape his artistic career.

Based in Madrid, Spain, he continued his artistic training and earned a Professional Master’s in Editorial Illustration and a Master’s in Digital Graphic Design, honing his skills and enriching his portfolio. His talent opened the doors to exhibit at the prestigious Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, where he created portraits of Olympic cyclists Leire Olabarria and Unai Elorriaga, solidifying his position in the art scene.

In addition to his exhibitions, René contributed to the world of comics as co-author and illustrator of POLITITXIKIS, published in Bilbao in 2008, and participated in local radio and television programs. In 2015, he collaborated with the Madrid Publishers Association in the Libros a la Calle campaign, promoting reading in the city’s metro and buses.

In 2019, seeking to broaden his horizons, René moved to Oxford, where he became a member of the Oxford Art Society and joined Fusion Arts (15 Park End St, Oxford, OX1 1HH), a space dedicated to creativity and cultural exchange. More than a year later, he moved to London, where he continued exploring new opportunities and challenges in his artistic career.

Throughout his journey, he has participated in numerous exhibitions in galleries and museums across countries such as Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama, including the renowned Ramsés Gallery in Madrid. His work has been acclaimed by both critics and art enthusiasts alike.

Now back in Spain, René has expanded his artistic expression into the world of tattooing, merging his background in hyperrealism, illustration, and graphic design with the art of skin. Through his brand R. Salazar Skin Gallery, he creates unique tattoos that combine fine art with personal symbolism, offering clients an experience where design becomes eternal.

As an artist, René seeks to create pieces that go beyond aesthetics, aiming to provoke deep reflection in the viewer. His purpose is to push the boundaries of hyperrealism, merging technical mastery with powerful emotional impact. Always in constant evolution, he continues to explore new paths and share his vision in each stage of his creative journey.
